You have been blocked from participating in this forum

How many people recently got banned from the "Freedom Fighters for America" group?

How many of you laughed your asses off when you found out?

Do you think the Freedom Fighter mods actually banned every single member of the Rubberneckers group? I wonder if their fingers are tired.

Do you think we should all put badges of honor in our Ravatars to celebrate this great banninating?

What Ever Happened To?

Another "whatever happened to?" mystery.

Whatever happened to Lapislazuli's crazy-ass bible group (called Hosea 4:6)? It appears to have been completely deleted. Of course, that means that all her posts to that group have been deleted to. There must have been some kind of drama, and I missed it! If you have any idea what happened, share with the rest of us.

The only hint I have is a beautiful, epic flounce from Lapislazuli on the Politically Incorrect Conservatives forums a month ago, here . It all happened so quickly and was archived, so I don't think anyone noticed. Judging by her most recent posts, our Lady Lapis has given up on posting about religion or politics at all on Ravelry, and is sticking to posting about her dog. This can only be a good thing.

In other news, reading conservative groups is much more fun if you have the right pair of goggles on.

Them's Fightin' Words!

So, the Rubberneckers are currently rubbernecking this thread. And why wouldn't you? It's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. The best part is I can't decide who I want to win in this wingnut v wingnut smackdown.

But did anyone else notice this? Liberals, you've been called out! Inmyhands is onto you and your censoring, unAmerican ways. I love the fact that after 5 hours (as of the time of writing this), apparently no one else cares.

And here's a Bitchy Knitter rubbernecking hint: If you want to read pages and pages of irrational hate against liberals, just stalk her posts. I'm wondering if a liberal beat her up as a child, cos damn....

ETA: Watch out Rubberneckers! Now she's after you, too

RIP Remnants

Remnants is no more. The news hit Ravelry with a shockwave not seen since someone faked their death. 1 million people now need somewhere else to get medical advice, judge each other on their parenting techniques or complain about the disagree button. And apparently, some of them aren't very happy about it.

I was honestly gobsmacked at some of the entitlement and vitriol that came spewing out of the "Questions about Remnants" thread. Some people said some really nasty things, and are predicting the demise of Ravelry because one forum was closed. It's an internet message board, people. There are thousands of other groups on Ravelry for you to rant on, and if you don't like any of the groups that exist, start a new one yourself.

I'm going to sound like a grumpy old man ("damn kids, get of my lawn!!") for a moment. I joined Ravelry pretty early on in its life, back when it existed purely on donations and you had to wait three months for an invitation to even log on. Casey and Jess used to post in the forums more regularly, and it helped everyone understand how hard they worked to keep Ravelry going, and that they are awesome people. Really fucking awesome people.

So if you're feeling bitter about Remnants being closed, remember this. Everything you say on Ravelry about the decision is being read by two very wonderful people who have worked extremely hard for years to bring (free!) one of the best websites on the internet to us. And then go and spend some time checking out the patterns/yarn/projects databases and remember the REAL reason why Ravelry was created in the first place. It wasn't so you could bitch about your mother-in-law.
